You can enjoy walking on Corsica , the only problem is that you have to go somewhere on the island for many hikes to a starting point. Since the railway runs very limited and basically there is no bus, you have to use a car to get there. A rental car is recommended to rent online from home to pick it up at the airport.

I know of two walking tours, one (there is also a train station there) starts directly from Algajola .

The first hike leads through the artists' village of Algajola Pigna and the monastery Corbara to San Antonino .

The travel time for a distance of about 2.5 hours.

Walking shoes, sun protection and plenty of bottled water, you should definitely have it, even a walking stick is a useful utensil.

From Algajola train station follow the road towards Ile Rousse to the campsite at the ranch Cantarettu (located on the right hand of the road). The road ends in a transverse path. From here, go right and after 50 meters turn left into a donkey trail. Now follow the yellow marker to Pigna.

A tour of Pigna is quite recommendable.

Then continue to follow the donkey trail. Cross the street before the monastery Corbara and after about 50 meters the unrecognizable at first glance, somewhat steep walk way up to the eucalyptus trees. Then turn right on a "garbage dump", pass the monastery. After the monastery the way to San Antonino is signposted.

In San Antonino have a look around.

PS:
Who has plenty of power can make an extra walk behind Pigna to Monte San Angelo (565 m high). We have not tried that, because the tour was just right for us as untrained hikers.
