Arles Amphitheatre

Amphithéâtre d'Arles

The Arles Amphitheatre is a Roman amphitheater, which was built around 90 AD. Previously, it consisted of three storeys with 60 arcades and offered space for 25,000 spectators. Today, the amphitheater serves, among other things, for bullfighting and theater + music performances. Admission (adults EUR 6, reduced EUR 4.50) - you can view the amphitheater from the inside. Open in summer (May-September) from 09:00 to 19:00 h.

Antique Theater in Arles

Théâtre antique d'Arles

The Ancient Theatre of Arles is located very close to the Amphitheatre. It was built in 25 BC by Emperor Augustus. Today, among other things, two Corinthian columns, a tower, and the lower rows of seats can be visited. Admission is EUR 6 for adults and EUR 4.50 for youth and students. The Ancient Theatre is open in the summer (May-October) from 9:00 to 19:00, unless there is an event inside.

St-Trophime d’Arles

The former Cathedral of St Trophimus d'Arles is now a Roman Catholic Church and is an important building in the city. It is also an important example of Romanesque architecture. The church can be visited in summer (May-September) from 09:00 to 19:00 h.
