SpainCheap and pleasant camping/bungalow spot, 15-20 minutes from the center of Barcelona. It is not very pricey, when visiting in July '12 It costed £40-45 for 2 people in 1 tent, for 3 nights. There is a bus going out of Plaça de Catalunya bus lines L94 and L95 to Castelldefels will take you straight to the camp site, you need to stop before the last stop , for more information Google Street view will be very helpful, saving image of just before where to stop :)
The camping is quite secure, you get a wristband for your stay and it is fenced with dew security people near the gates. The entrance is easy to spot however in an awkward position, in front of a motorway, with a little path from the bus stop.
There is a little "Social point" where a supermarket, internet cafe (slow computers and little pricey but allows 2 sockets to charge your phone and use the internet), souvenir point, where cigarettes can also be bought (being a smoker it was very relieving, prices are OK too), Ice cream/pancake cafe and a nice bar.
Supermarket has pretty good prices for the location, examples from summer '12 are €1 for can of baked beans, €1.50 for a loaf of freshly baked bread, €4 for 4 pack of beer :) You get the idea. You can get most things from there, they have chilled drinks, also BBQ equipment. bought a small portable oven for €25 with 1 gas refill and it was a good investment. They have fresh bakery stuff like croissants and bread rolls. Alcohol is available at acceptable prices too. Not sure about opening times but if i remember well, 8/9am - 20pm.
The bar mentioned is open from early morning (8am) and also serves as restaurant and cafe, with cheap coffee and croissants. Food is nice and with OK prices, (I paid €4 for big plate of salad with goat cheese and seafood), The drinks are around €2.50 for pina colada/sex on the beach and others, nice place to relax before heading for the beach. 20 minute walk away is a night club, not been personally so cant tell whether its good, it can be found on Google maps.
The camping is placed literally on the beach, with some holiday apartments on one side, generally it was pretty quiet compared to Barcelona beach, the sand was clean with no bottles or trash. Water was also very clean there, fishes swimming now and then (scaring me a bit at first). Not very noisy, just occasional bigger planes as airport is near by (Bus going from Barca to camping goes right past it, easy to get to camp site from airport).
Putting the place and my experience in short paragraph, it is a good place to stay when visiting Barcelona, as transport is easy and cheap - €2/person for bus, it is secluded yet close to everything, for those who need one or two day of quiet to relax on the sunny beach with a drink and nice people from all around Europe, some Interrailing some in campers :)
I would recommend it for above reasons or as a 1 day relax between Barcelona and southern Spain/Portugal.
