SerbiaKalemegdan is a complex of fortress, park and adjacent objects situated on a 125m high hill. The first fortifications were built by Celts, and those structures were then rebuilt by Romans (the place was known then as Singidunum). Now the complex is very picturesque and includes parks, fortifications, walls, gates, churches, archaeological sites and many other attractions like Military Museum, the Victor Monument, Belgrade Zoological Garden or tennis courts. From the hill you can also admire the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. The whole complex is located in the northern part of the Belgrade Old Town (one of the main entrances is at the northern end of the famous Kneza Mihajla street), so you can easily go there by foot from the city centre or the train station. The admission is free.
