There are a couple of towers at the end of the main street 'Via Francesco Rizzoli': the taller of the 2 is called Torre degli Asinelli, which stands for "donkeys' tower" It is 97 metres tall and it was built during the middle age! ..so the inside is quite impressive only made of bricks and wooden...

It is 97 metres tall and it was built during the middle age! ..so the inside is quite impressive only made of bricks and wooden stairs.
It's not great if you are afraid of heights but if you can handle the middle section, you can reach a good viewpoint on Bologna and the smaller tower beside.
The entrance fee was just EUR 3 in May 2015
