The "Manneken Pis", often called "Petit Julien", is one of the most famous landmarks of Brussels.
"Manneken Pis" is a fountain sculpture in the form of a urinating boy.
The only 61 centimeters tall bronze figure was placed in 1619 on the street corner Rue de l'Etuve, Rue des Grands Carmes and Rue du Chêne, very close to the "Grand-Place/Grote Markt".
The fountain sculpture was stolen several times. The now existing and visible statue dates from 1965.
The fountain figure is costumed regularly. "Manneken Pis" carries for examplee on international soccer matches the jersey of the Belgian national team.
Many of the costumes are exhibited in the Brussels City Museum.
