The Calanques in the French department of Bouches-du-Rhône are small, fjord-like bays with very clear water where you can swim very well.
The Calanque de Port-Miou, now extended to a small marina, is the only Calanque which belongs to Cassis.
All other Calanques are at the metropolitan area of Marseille, although some are much faster to reach from Cassis. On foot it takes about 30 minutes from the center of Cassis to Calanque Port-Miou.
Note: in July and August, the trails in the Calanques are are closed due to the high fire danger!
