Nyhavn

The Nyhavn ("New Harbor") is a known highlight in Copenhagen. This is an artificial channel from the port to Kongens Nytorv, a place of the city. Nyhavn is known for its colorful houses, for the many ships in the channel, as well as for the many restaurants and pubs everywhere around.

Freetown Christiania

Fristad Christiania

The Freetown Christiania is an autonomous commune in the vicinity of Copenhagen Christianshavn district since 1971. The free town is quite unique in the world, so drugs such as hashish and marijuana are there freely sold on the street. In addition, the houses in Christiana are quite run down, or kept in an exceptional architecture. Christiania is developed for tourism and as a tourist you need not to worry if you are silent (no fast running) and no photography in public. Although it is considered as a hippie center today, Christiana is definitely worth a visit. Nevertheless: stay away from drugs!
