"Nordmanns Eisfabrik" in Dusseldorf offers really good ice cream and unusual varieties. I enjoyed it, even if you had to stand in line. :)

sattgrün

The sattgrün in Düsseldorf offers vegetarian and ecological food. Prices are fair, the food is very tasty. It is a buffet and you pay for the size of your plate.

Japanese restaurant Takumi

Japanisches Restaurant Takumi

Düsseldorf has the highest population of Japanese in Germany. Along and around the Immermannstraße you can find many Asian shops, supermarkets and restaurants. It's a 10 min. walk from the central station. "Takumi" offers traditional Japanese noodle soups (Ramen) and some other dishes like Gyoza and Karage which is fried stuff (they do not have sushi!). The taste is authentic like in Japan, even though they have more creative combinations of ingredients at "Takumi". The price for a bowl of noodles starts from ~11€ which is a bit pricey but its a lot and makes you full. The restaurant itself is quite small, toilets are clean and the staff very friendly and polite. From what I have seen and heard only Japanese people work there. "Takumi" is rated among the best Japanese ones in Düsseldorf, so be prepared to wait a little in line.
