GermanyCoffee grinder in Erfurt

ELMI-Filiale Krämerbrückencafé
ELMI exists the 1950s. Today, more than 50 shops are available in Thuringia and Saxony. Either as a bakery with cafe area or as ELMI café. 21 shops exists in the city of Erfurt. They offer basically the same everywhere. So you have a basic assortment of bread, rolls, cakes and biscuits. The range of the offers depends on the size of the shops. Hot and cold drinks available, also "to go". As well as breakfast and snack offers. They offer ELMI ice cream - like they did years in the past. Two of the ELMI shops I recommend due to their location. One is the "ELMI Krämerbrückencafé" at the Benediktsplatz (it is located diagonally opposite the tourist info). Open all weekdays from 07:00 to 18:00h. In the May to September open even to 19:00h. Prices are okay. For my breakfast I paid 5.40 EUR. Espresso = 1.90 EUR Butter croissant = 1.30 EUR 0.2 l orange juice = 2.20 EUR
ELMI-Filiale Café am Dom

Hot and cold drinks available, also "to go". As well as breakfast and snack offers. They offer ELMI ice cream - like they did years in the past. Two of the ELMI shops I recommend due to their location. One is the "ELMI Café am Dom" at the cathedral square. Open all weekdays from 07:00 to 18:00h. In the May to September open even to 19:00h. The store is spread over two floors. The ground floor is the place where you get the food and drinks and more busy. The second floor offers a better view but is the smokers area. You can also sit outdoor and enjoy the sun in the afternoon. Prices are a bit higher than elsewhere at ELMI, but the quality is good. After testing a comparable bakery/cafe in the area of Cathedral Square, I can say that I personally prefer ELMI and pay a little bit more for quality!
Café Nerly
The slightly different café ... If you like it a bit plush, can sit on the sofa here. The entrance is set back from the street market. You have to take a closer look to find it. It is in coffeehouse-style of the 20s with lovingly restored old furniture and comfy sofas. There is not only food and drinks, but also culture, such as readings and concerts. Opening times: Monday - Friday from 16-24h Saturday 12-24h Sunday closed.

Altstadt-Café
Small cafe right on the water. With a small outside area.
Starbucks
In December 2014, the first Starbucks store was opened in Thuringia. It is located at Erfurt Central Station. Accessible only from the outside. It is located on the corner of Bahnhofstraße/railway station forecourt. The store is very small and probably has no seats. Quick drink of a coffee is okay. Those who want to meet and chat, I advise to go to Willy B. (opposite Central Station).
Espach-Café
A coffee in the park. Opening times: Tuesday-Friday: 11:00 -21:00 h Saturday-Sunday: 09:00 - 21:00 h Closed on Monday.
Coffee Fellows
The Coffee Fellows at Erfurt Main Station. It is a bit windy and cold there in the winter months. Maybe a better place is the Willy B. (opposite of the main station). Mon-Fri: 06:00-20:00h Sat-Sun: 08:00-20:00h
Coffeehouse Rommel
Kaffeehaus Rommel
The Café Rommel is a classic cafe. It has existed for over 100 years (between closed from time to time, but now finally open again!). The interior is as protected monument, get fortunately remained. The cafe is a little off the beaten track and the "Johannesstraße" is not to designate as attractive. But I like the coffee. Those who love coffee houses in Vienna style should visit it.
Café of Bakery Becker at Erfurt Bus Station
Café der Bäckerei Becker am Busbahnhof Erfurt
Café close to the railway station. Exit the railway station and keep right. Opening times: Monday to Friday: 06:00 - 18:30 h Saturday and Sunday: 08:00 - 12:00 h
Willy B.
The Willy B. is good if you want to eat or drink something before you leave (or arriving) Erfurt. In the station itself and the station forecourt (Willy-Brandt-Platz) there are several possibilities. Directly opposite the railway station located to the left a branch of the bakery Heberer, in the middle the "Willy B." and on the right an Italian restaurant. There is also left-hand side (Bahnhofstraße) a branch of Subway. I personally recommend the Willy B. The atmosphere is pleasant, the prices of normal average. They also offer snacks. You can sit at ground level, but also in a gallery. And in summer at outdoor tables under umbrellas. I've been there several times (after a rail trip or just anyway) ...
Eiscafe Venezia Erfurt
If you are looking for a café to enjoy in the evening sun, then you're here at the right place. Many other dining options have only seats in the shadow due to the small streets in the Old Town. Prices are okay. Espresso = 1.70 EUR Tonic 0.2 L = 1.70 EUR
Café Flo in Erfurt
Feature: this cafe is a waffle cafe. There are no cakes and pies, but freshly made waffles of all kinds Small cafe in the Old Town, a few steps away from the Market Street (Marktstraße). It can be found between Market Street (Marlstraße) and Long Bridge (Lange Brücke). It is located very close to the "wedding house" (Hochzeitshaus), the house Sonneborn. In summer you can sit in the yard.
Café Nüsslein
Directly on the archway of the Krämerbrücke (at the Ägidienkirche = the Wenigemarkt) is located the Café Nuesslein. It has a plus point, that so far I couldn't find in other cafés in Erfurt: there is - just like in Italy! - the espresso at the counter of a lower price than the espresso at the table. at the table = 2.20 EUR at the counter = 1.30 EUR For a quick coffee break it is a good thing! *** Opening times *** daily 09:00 to 23:00
