Train Station Gotha / Gotha

A station on the "Towns Line of Thuringia" (Eisenach - Gotha - Erfurt - Weimar - Jena - Gera - Altenburg) and also stop for the long-distance trains between Frankfurt/Main and Dresden (via Leipzig).
The Gotha station was redesigned, which is a big advantage for all travelers.
Directly at the train station runs the Gotha tram. Line 4, the so-called "Thüringerwaldbahn" runs via Waltershausen and Friedrichroda (where you can visit the "Marienglashöhle") to Tabarz.
The station forecourt is decorated with Goethe's quote: "You are traveling to not really hear and see all the same on every station." (Denn man reist doch wahrlich nicht, um auf jeder Station einerlei zu sehen und zu hören). You can see it even from the train stopping at the station. Nice view in the night when being illuminated.
