How to travel by Interrail in Slovakia. Overview and information to travel routes, Slovakian train types, night trains and Interrail reservations.
Validity:
Interrail is valid on all trains of ZSSK (State Railways).
Interrail is not valid on RegioJet and Leo Express trains.

Reservation and supplement:
Day trains: Compulsory seat reservation in SC Pendolino train from Kosice to Prague. All other trains can be used without a seat reservation.

Night trains: Seat reservation is compulsory on the night trains to Krakow, Warsaw, Berlin and on the night trains from Humenne and Kosice to Prague. All other night trains, including domestic night trains can be used without seat reservations.

Good to know:
Interrail in Slovakia is convenient and easy. On the main routes from Bratislava to Kosice and Banska Bystrica as well as on the international lines to Prague and Budapest express trains run every two hours. Additional trains run on the many local lines across the country. Vienna is connected to Bratislava with two trains every hour. In addition to the capital Bratislava you should also have a look at Kosice, Presov or Banska Bystrica. There are also many smaller villages worth to be discovered. Regarding nature, head for High Tatra mountains or the „Slovak Paradise“.
