Good to know:
Interrail in Spain is a bit more complicated than in other countries as almost all long distance trains require a reservation. This means that you should always think about your route and plan it carefully so that you don't have to buy too many reservations. However, as soon as you have your reservation and can board the trains, travelling in Spain is really comfortable and fast. The country has the longest network of high speed lines in Europe and frequent trains connect large cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Malaga, La Coruna, Bilbao, San Sebastian with each other but you can also reach smaller towns such as Salamanca, Toledo, Granada, Ronda, Teruel or Tortosa. Many lines run through very scenic landscapes.
Timetables for long distance trains are available in our schedule planner or the Interrail app. Timings for suburban trains are only available on the website of RENFE and for timings of private railways you have to check on their websites.
Ferries run to the Balearic Islands, to Morocco, Italy and Great Britain.
