Interrail and Inlandsbanan (INBA). How to buy a reservation or can I travel for free. Train information, photos and videos.
Inlandsbanan trains run on the more than 1000km long route from Mora via Östersund to Gällivare. The railway line runs through the beautiful and remote landscape of northern Sweden.
Inlandsbanan uses older diesel railcars, most of which are refurbished, with comfortable seats (2nd class only). Trains are equipped with WiFi. Passengers with wheelchairs should contact Inlandsbana directly to arrange their travel.
The touristic trains in summer have guides on board which tell you interesting stories and information about all the places you pass by on your journey. They also take food and coffee orders, which will then be served during one of the longer breaks during the journey.
On the northern part of the route, from Östersund to Gällivare, trains only operate during the sommer months. On the souther part, between Östersund and Mora, trains operate all year round.
Seat reservation is included if you buy your ticket in advance. If you are travelling with a rail pass (Interrail, Eurail or Inlandsbanan Card) you can make a seat reservation which costs 50 SEK. This is recommended especially during the summer season as the trains have a limited capacity. However, seat reservation is not compulsory and you can also get on board standing.
Gällivare - Östersund | Östersund - Mora - Kristinehamn
reservation possible but not required
2nd class: SEK 50
1st class: SEK 50
