Intercity Benelux services connect Amsterdam and Bruxelles via Rotterdam , Breda and Antwerpen every hour. They travel on the same high speed lines as the Thalys however maximum speed is lower, resulting in longer travel times. Four trains daily start from Den Haag instead of Amsterdam.
IC Benelux trains consist of refurbished Intercity coaches of NS (Dutch Railways) powered by SNCB (Belgian Railways) locos, the trains being run in cooperation of the two companies.
- 2nd and 1st class open-plan carriages with air-condition
- Power sockets are only available in 1st class.
- No Wifi
- Trains are equipped for passengers with reduced mobility
- Transport of bicycles is possible
Seat reservation is not possible.

Buy your train reservation at a railway station. These are usually available at stations in all countries where a particular train runs through. In many countries, especially in central and eastern Europe you can also buy reservations for trains in other countries. In some countries (for instance in the Netherlands or Spain) you have to pay a service fee at the ticket counter.
