InterCity trains are comfortable long-distance services travelling on many routes throughout Sweden. Daily services are available from Stockholm to Falun, Mora and Östersund as well as from Lulea to Narvik. Trains on other routes do not run daily, and there are other, faster alternatives with Snabbtag high-speed trains available.
InterCity trains either consist of regular, loco-hauled coaches or of the new SJ3000 high-speed trains. All trains (except Lulea - Narvik) offer comfortable seats in 2nd and 1st class as well as a buffet or bistro car. In 2nd class, there are fours seats per row (2+2) in open-plan arrangements, mostly in rows with only few seats facing each other. In 1st class, there are four seats per row (2+2) on the SJ3000 trains and three seats per row (2+1) on regular coaches. Seats are usually in open-plan arrangements with most seats in rows and only a few facing each each other.
All trains have air-condition and power sockets at each seat. Most trains are equipped for the disabled. SJ3000 trains also offer WiFi.
