Interregio trains operated by SBB (Swiss Railways) are long distance trains complementing the Intercity network. They run on most main lines throughout Switzerland.Compared to Intercity services, Interregio usually run on shorter routes and make more frequent stops.
Interregio trains usually consist of conventional push-pull rakes formed of single- or double-deck coaches or double-deck railcars. They convey 2nd and 1st class seats in open-plan arrangements. All trains have air-condition and power sockets. IR trains do not have a bistro or restaurant car. All trains have facilities for the disabled. Bicycles can be transported on all trains.

Buy your train reservation at a railway station. These are usually available at stations in all countries where a particular train runs through. In many countries, especially in central and eastern Europe you can also buy reservations for trains in other countries. In some countries (for instance in the Netherlands or Spain) you have to pay a service fee at the ticket counter.
