The Cisterna Basilica, also often called Sunken Palace, is a late ancient cistern in the west of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. It iis one of the most impressive sights of the city. The 138 meters long and 65 meter wide underground cistern was built in its present form between 532 and about 542 under Emperor Justinian as a water reservoir for the Grand Palace. At the end of the bar is waiting a surprise. The entrance is about EUR 4, there is no student discount.
Galata Tower
