From the city ring (near the west side of the railway station) turn into Pfaffendorfer. Follow the signs, not very far on the left side of the street.
It is a large stone gate which you really can not miss.

Bicycles - Bicycle racks are located just outside the main entrance
Luggage - in the lockers in the entrance area

January to March from 09.00 to 17.00 h
April from 09.00 to 18.00 h (on weekends and public holidays until 19.00 h)
May to September from 09.00 to 19.00 h
October from 09.00 to 18.00 h
November and December from 09.00 to 17.00 h (24.12. And 31.12. only to 15.00 h)

With the purchase of your ticket, you get a map of the zoo.
You get an overview of the whole zoo are. Marked by red dots is the recommended tour.
Note: make sure not to miss anything. I failed the Penguins. :(

This and that we have seen by chance, others remained hidden from us.

So first of all, I found the ticket price quite high. Of course I realize that an investment must be received in this dimension and that the maintenance and care of animals and the maintenance of the system results in enormous costs. Glad you pay one Euro more if it's all neat and well maintained.

Overall, I was surprised positively by the zoo. The area is very spacious and the park is designed very attractively. The catering facilities look very inviting (even we have not used it).

I will - if there is an opportunity - come back. On the one hand, because I have not seen everything, on the other hand because always new things are created. So it makes sense to visit the zoo in long time intervals.

What I will not use, is the evening ticket. Because one hours is not enough time. We are not the absolute zoo fans - but stayed in total 2 1/2 hours in the zoo.

I think a visit is worth as:
* easy access (central location, good infrastructure)
* prices - well ... but as I said ... building materials, energy, food for the animals - it just has to be paid for all
* the zoo make a good impression (spacious, well designed, maintained)
* catering - there are several dining options available, and all are adapted to the external environment and an attractive design
* others - the gift shop has a comprehensive supply and toilets are available in the park in several places
