LU Luxembourg

The Fort Thüngen (lux. "Dräi Eechelen") is located in Luxembourg on the slopes of Kirchberg near the European center.

It is a part of the historic fortifications in Luxembourg and was originally built in 1736 and expanded again in 1836 and 1860 before it was finally demolished in 1870-1874. The three towers, and later restored foundation walls have remained to this day. Within the towers is today a museum.

Around the Fort Thüngen is a beautiful little park that invites in good weather for a walk. From here you have a good view of Luxembourg City and also to the European institutions, which are not far away.
