GermanyIn the museum you can visit more than 100 buildings and see how building and living developed in Hesse the past 400 years.
*** Opening times ***
from early March to end October daily 0900-1800 h
(Note: Doors close at 1700 h)
*** Admission ***
Adults pay 6 EUR.
Besides the museum there is a historic market square. I personally find it very beautiful. It is freely accessible. The entrance is located before you get to the museum entrance and there is no entry fee.
At the marketplace, there are various shops (including a bakery and a cheese shop, so that you can provide for the move if the picnic bag is already empty). Restaurants and bars (Hessian cuisine!) are there too. The cheese shop has a good offer and they will advise fine. Highly recommended!
*** Directions ***
You reach the Hessenpark like this:
From Bad Homburg take the Taunusbahn (railway line R15) to Wehrheim.
From there continue by bus line 63 in direction of Wehrheim. Exit at stop Neu-Anspach/Anspach.
OR:
Start in Bad Homburg with the Taunusbahn (R 15) to Neu-Anspach/Anspach railway station.
From there, again with the bus 63, but this time towards Wehrheim to the stop Neu-Anspach/Anspach Hessenpark.
Note: at your return travel from Hessenpark pay attention to which stop you go. As you can easily make a mistake and miss the bus and loose time and the connection to the train (my personal experience).
