Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth / Portsmouth

A complex of shops, bowling alleys, pubs/clubs ,cinemas, flats and a casino. Famous to the locals as there are several good offers of the shops during the year. Also, the main landmark of Portsmouth - the Spinnaker Tower - stands there, alowing the visitors to go on it and have a panoramic view of Portsmouth. During the Christmas vacation Gunwharf is decorated with colourful Christmas lights making a jolly atmoshere.
Gunwharf Quays lies in the west end of Portsmouth opposite of Gosport and next to the Hard interchange, a transportation junction for buses, coaches, trains and the ferry.
Several events take place over the year, the architecture of the building combine the new with the old style in a beautiful way, some remarkable buildngs are the "Lipstick" tower and the Old Customs Housepub. In the old times it used to be a naval dockyard for the Royal Navy, as technology improved the dockyard was misused and wasn't necessary anymore. In 28th of February,2001 officialy Gunwharf Quays officialy opened to the public.
