Bernina Express trains consist of air-conditioned panoramic cars with large windows, allowing for best views of the stunning scenery. 2nd and 1st class seats are available and a minibar services sells drinks and snacks at your seat. There are three routes available. Trains from St Moritz to Tirano cover the whole Bernina Railway in 2h30. Trains starting in Chur and Davos also run over the beautiful Albula Railway before reaching the Bernina line in Pontresina and continuing to Tirano. These trains combine the best parts of both the Albula and Bernina line in about 4 hours.
For travelling in the panoramic cars a seat reservation is compulsory. It is 14 CHF in summer season (May - October) and 10 CHF in winter. Bernina Express trains are pulled by railcars. You can travel in these railcars without the extra reservation.
