Treno is a classification for passenger trains in Greece covering very diverse routes and purposes. This includes the night train from Athens via Thessaloniki to Alexandroupoli as well as stopping trains on secondary lines such as from Palaeofarsalos to Kalambaka.
Trains are operated with various types of trains with different kinds of amenities. You will find trains composed of the same coaches used on Intercity trains (Athens to Kalambaka and Athens to Alexandroupoli night train), as well as class 520 DMU (Thessaloniki to Edessa and Alexandroupoli to Dikaia). On shorter distance services you will find class 560 or 621 DMU.
