The closest railway station with train connection from Bangkok is located in Surat Thani, about 200 kilometers away from Phuket Airport. Tickets for the direct buses from Bangkok to Phuket are available from 15 Euro. The journey time is about 13 hours. Flights are not that expensive and of course faster.
