Restaurant in the Galeria Kaufhof at Alex in Berlin
Restaurant im Galeria Kaufhof am Alex in Berlin
When I travel, I want to eat mostly simple, but good and inexpensive. I do not need a great restaurant with extensive menus, because it costs too much time in the normal case. So I like to use sometimes a customer restaurant in a mall or department store. The customer restaurant of the Kaufhof at Alexanderplatz is located in the 5th Floor, has a few tables next to the front window and offer a good view of the square. The early breakfast can not be enjoyed here, because it opens at 09:30h. But a second breakfast - if you feel like it with salmon sandwiches and sparkling wine - is possible here. Or you can go here for lunch. The dish of the day you get for just under 8 EUR. From my point of view: Recommended!
Indian Restaurant Houdini in Berlin
Indisches Restaurant Houdini in Berlin
To find a good restaurant in the inner city of Berlin (at least without local knowledge) is not easy. Much is unfortunately just tourist rip-off. If you have the opportunity to move away a little bit from the absolute city centre, then you should definitely do that, because there are many better restaurants. The variety of dining facilities in Berlin, is seemingly endless. We have been looking a long time ago (on the recommendation of a friend) on the Helmholtz square and were already in the "Houdini" and "Frida Kahlo". During recent visit to Berlin, we were back in Houdini. You get there easily with the S-Bahn exit at station Prenzlauer Allee. Then about 5 minutes walk. The restaurant is located in the "Lychener Straße" / corner "Raunerstraße". Houdini is an Indian restaurant. There are also several vegetarian dishes, which made me very happy. The portions do well enough. The prices are mid range, which in view of the fact that the Prenzlauer Berg scene district for more and more developed - is very gratifying. Free wireless is also available. I have not tested it because I've discovered the little sticker in the window too late.
Georgbräu in Berlin
To find in the inner city Berlin a good restaurant (at least without local knowledge) is not easy. Much is unfortunately just tourist rip-off. If you have the opportunity to move away a little from the absolute centre, you should definitely do that, because there are many better restaurants. After several failed attempts, we found near the Alexanderplatz a place which was quite acceptable. It is located in the Nikolai Quarter (Nikolaiviertel). There are many different restaurants, but as already said ... We have tasted it in Georgbräu and the prices were okay too. At first we thought that there is a "capital surcharge", but when we saw the generous portion, we felt that the price is still quite justified. Open daily from 12:00h. In fine weather you can sit outside (but only up to 22:00h).
Restaurant Wandel in Berlin
Here - not far from the S-Bahn station Alexanderplatz - you can have breakfast and eat good and cheap lunch. The breakfast we have already tested several times. For lunch we only stayed once. You will find this externally unassuming restaurant just opposite to the Hotel Indigo. The quality is great and the prices are more than friendly. It seems to be the canteen for the employees of the building or complex of buildings, office of the local authorities and institutions. Canteen but not the whole character. It is stylishly furnished. It is self-service, but you get it for a good price. *** Opening times *** Monday to Friday: 07:00 to 19:00 h
Caffé e Gelato
