Interrail and InterCity (IC). How to buy a reservation or can I travel for free. Train information, photos and videos.
InterCity are express trains running on the main lines from Praha to Brno and Breclav and to Ostrava and Opava. Similar to EuroCity and Expres trains they call only at larger cities and provide fast journey times.
Some IC trains are running between Prague and Ostrava as substitute for SC Pendolino services. Compulsory reservation on these services!
The SC Pendolino trains on the route Ostrava - Praha - Cheb are classified as "IC" between Prague and Cheb and can be used without a seat reservation on this route.
Trains consist of refurbished 2nd and 1st class coaches.
- 2nd class carraiges either have compartments with 6 seats per compartment or have four seats per row (2+2) in open-plan arrangement.
1st class carriages have three seats per row in open-plan arrangement (2+1) seat
- Air-condition
- Power sockets
- Wifi in most coaches
- Bicycle transport possible on all trains
- Trains are equipped for passengers with reduced mobility
- Restaurant car on all trains
