Battelli di Roma

Before our trip, I found in the web very different statements, whether tourist ships are offered on the Tiber or not. Our conclusion: apparently YES, but only in the period from April to October.

Pilgrimages in Rome

Pellegrinaggi a Roma

During our visit to Rome we found some colored dots as markers on the pavement, which we could not be identify initially - nothing was mentioned in our guide. On our day of departure we discovered (at the airport) a postcard on which the four routes, which are marked by the different colored dots was printed and the stations were named. (see photo) At home chcking it in the internet, we found out that these dots are not made for walking tours, but for pilgrimage routes in Rome. Tours: - Cammino del Pellegrino - Cammino della via Papale "A" and "B" - Cammino Mariano For more information for your travel preparation = see link.

Cycling in Rome

In bici a Roma

The traffic in Rome appears to the Central Europeans chaotic. Those who still want to ride a bike (note: you can see very little cyclists in the cityscape!) can do it possibly relatively safe on the little bike path, which have been created on the Tiber along a length of about 5.5 km. Otherwise, I have (of course only after our stay in Rome) read that there will be cycle paths as follows: - North of the city ... from Castel Giubileo to Ponte Milvio (about 25 km) - The center of town to Ponte Sublicio (about 10 km) - south of the city to Ponte Mezzocammino (approximately 15 km)
