1b Travelling from Vladivostok (Russia) to Sakaiminato (Japan)

Travel from Vladivostok to Sakaiminato by ferry. The journey time on the ferry from Vladivostok to Sakaiminato is 44 hours with two nights on board. Ferry tickets start from 250 EUR including extra fees like port tax.

Book the ticket in advance via given booking websites. The more expensive category "beds" means you get a really comfortable bed with privacy curtain. All is clean and nice, like you expect it from Japan.

Sockets are not available. You have to ask the staff and pay for it. The little shop only sells snacks. Charge your devices in advance and get some noodle packets with you, as you get boiled cold and hot water for free. Of course there is a restaurant on board as well, but it is rather expensive.

The ferry route has a stop-over of five hours in Donghae (South Korea), but you just stay on board.

They offer you to leave the ferry in Donghae (South Korea) for four hours. But you have to cross the customs to leave the ferry and when you turn back. Which will take already a lot of time.
