1a Travelling from Split (Croatia) to Ancona (Italy)
Travel from Split to Ancona by ferry. The journey time is 12 hours. The ticket price starts at 20 EUR. The ferry companies SNAV and Jadrolinija serve this route.
You will find these service categories on board of the ferry:
- standard inclinable seats which are the cheapest travel option
- shared cabins with beds: you share the cabin and the shower and toilet with other travellers.
- private cabins: from standard to luxury cabins with private bed, shower and toilet. This is the best option if you want privacy, travel with your family or friends.
The check-in time is two hours prior to departure.
How you get in Split from the the train station to the ferry port:
The ferry terminals are just opposite of the railway station of Split. Just cross the street and there you are.
How you get in Ancona from the ferry port to the train station:
It is a distance of 2 kilometers from Ancona ferry port to the railway station. You can either walk which will take about 30 minutes. Or you travel by bus line number 12 or 20. Frequent departures are available. The bus journey time is 10 minutes. You will depart from „Ancona Ferries Terminal“, the arrival place of all ferry companies. The bus ticket price is 1.50 EUR. Show your boarding pass and you may travel for free.

Ancona - Split
1b Travelling from Ancona (Italy) to Milan (Italy)
Travel from Ancona to Milan by direct train. The journey time is between 3:30 and 6 hours and depends on the train connection you choose. The train ticket fares start from 16 EUR. There are frequent train connections available, at least every hour.
You can choose between high-speed-trains (Frecciarossa and Frecciabianca) and slower trains like InterCity and Regionale Veloce trains. The train tickets for the slower train connections are usually cheaper.

2b Travelling from Dubrovnik (Croatia) to Bari (Italy)
Travel from Dubrovnik to Bari by ferry. The journey time is 8 to 11 hours. The ticket price starts at 50 EUR. The ferry company Jadrolinija serves this route.
You will find these service categories on board of the ferry:

How you get in Dubrovnik from the the train station to the ferry port:
Dubrovnik is not connected to the railway network of Croatia. You have to travel to Dubrovnik by bus. It is a 5 minute walk in south direction, from the bus station „Autobusni kolodvor“ to the ferry terminal.
How you get in Bari from the ferry terminal to the train station:
It is a distance of 2 kilometers from the ferry terminal to „Bari Centrale“ railway station. You can either walk which will take about 25 minutes. Or you travel by bus line number 50. It is a circle line from „Stazione Marittima“ to „Bari Centrale“ (arrival directly in front of the train station). The bus runs every 20 minutes and the ticket price is 1 EUR. The bus journey time is 15 minutes.
The ferry port of Bari has two terminals.
1. „Terminal Crociere“ is for ferry arrivals from Greece.
2. „Terminal Porto di Bari“ is for ferry arrivals other than Greece, for example from Croatia.
Between these two ferry terminals runs a free shuttle bus.
If you want to visit Bari old-town, use the lockers at the train station. These are better than the ones at the ferry terminal due to the opening times.

3a Travelling from Split (Croatia) to Zagreb (Croatia)
Travel from Split to Zagreb by train. You can travel by day train or by overnight train. The journey time is 6:20 hours. The ticket price starts at 99 HRK (14 EUR).
1) Travel by day train from Split to Zagreb.
There are two train connections per day. You travel by ICN train with air-condition. It is a very scenic route with rivers, lakes and mountains. The ticket price starts at 99 HRK (14 EUR). A seat reservation is required and included in the ticket price (1 EUR).
The departure time in Split is 08:35 and 14:30 (only June to September). The arrival time in Zagreb is 14:55 and 21:00.
2) The overnight train from Split to Zagreb.
The departure time in Split is 21:40. The arrival time in Zagreb is 05:50. The ticket price starts at 120 HRK.
The night train offers the following service categories:
