Slovenia - Austria
Travel from Slovenia to Austria by train via one of these two railway routes.
1. From Ljubljana via Maribor to Graz and Vienna.
2. From Ljubljana via Bled to Villach where you can continue from to Salzburg, Innsbruck and Vienna.
There a saver fare tickets ("Sparschine") available from Austrian railways ÖBB starting from 9 EUR. You can also buy train tickets at Slovenian railway stations.

Slovenia - Germany
Train tickets from Ljubljana and other selected railway stations in Slovenia to Germany are available from Deutsche Bahn (German railways).
These saver fare tickets "Sparpreis Europa" start from 29 EUR. If you start your journey from a city in Slovenia where no ticket is available, buy first a ticket of Slovenian railways to a possible departure station. And from there buy a second train ticket to Germany.
Slovenia - Croatia
Travel from Slovenia to Croatia by train. There are several saver ticket fares available. The train tickets have to be purchased at a railway station.
The most important railway line between Slovenia and Croatia is the main line from Ljubljana to Zagreb via the Dobova border crossing. The journey time from Ljubljana to Zagreb is three hours. You have at least two direct trains daily. The ticket fare is 9 EUR.
Other major international train lines run from Ljubljana to Rijeka and from Ljubljana to Pula.

Slovenia - Hungary
Travel from Slovenia to Hungary by direct day train. The journey time on the travel route from Budapest to Ljubljana is 7:40 hours. Train tickets are available as saver fare price from 9 EUR.
In Hodoš is the only railway station for border crossing trains between both countries.

Slovenia - Italy
Travel from Slovenia to Italy on the train route from Ljubljana (Slovenia) to Trieste (Italy).
There are at least two trains per day to cross the border. The journey time on the railway line Ljubljana to Trieste is 2:50 hours. The train ticket fare is 8 EUR. Buy the ticket at a train station.

It is also possible to cross the border at Gorica. But you have to include a bus to get from the Slovenian to the Italian train station within the town.
