Stay in Lucerne for minimal 2 nights to see the whole city! Take the boat service over the Vierwaldstättersee towards the end, Flüelen. Or get off early at Vitznau and travel via Rigi and Arth-Goldau towards Vitznau.

Change in Flüelen for the region service towards Lugano. Keep in mind that only the hourly region service goes over the mountain pass, all high-speed trains go through the new basis-tunnel.

Visit Lugano for minimal 2 days. The beautiful city with its Mediterranean Atmosphere is definitely worth it. Take the local bus or organised Rhaetian Railways bus towards Tirano.

Take the Bernina Express through the beautiful landscape to St. Moritz.

Overnight in the region of St. Moritz. Or one of the many villages near that are way cheaper. Recommendation: Preda. Take the Glacier Express onward.

Take the Glacier Express or Bernina Express towards Chur. Travel onwards with the Glacier Express or local trains, or stay in Chur.

Stay in Zermatt for several days. Take one of the many cable cars or the Gornergratbahn. As alternative choose for Saas Fee!

Brig can be used as big interchange point. It has travel possibilities towards: Zermatt (MGB), Saas-Fee (Bus), Milan (EC), Genève/Lausanne (IC) and Bern (RE/IC) Heads up: Please use the RE towards Bern if you want the scenic mountain pass. The IC takes the faster Base-tunnel. Brig it self is a nice little town as well!
